On a couple week long road trip out to Colorado last fall, we were completely amazed to see all of the local businesses coming forward to take care of the firefighters. During one of the worst wildfire seasons in history, firefighters worked 24/7 to protect people's homes, businesses, and belongings in general. Every little town we drove through had signs posted left and right stating free lunches, coffee, or whatever they had to offer for firefighters, even if it was just the sincerest of "thank yous". It so wonderful to see people taking care of other people and the appreciation that follows!
