Just 18 months ago my1Mpact started significant work in Mexico partnering with three dynamic women who oversee incredible humanitarian organizations with very poignant needs in their country.
For those who lost everything in the earthquake in 2017, to date 32 homes have been built and building continues on many more through an unprecedented donation-matching opportunity with our in-country partners. These amazing people and socially responsible Companies turn an US$850 donation into an $8000 earthquake resistant home with a warranty, private rooms, running water and modern facilities (Foundation Gilberto)
Education is a pivotal aspect of the work with ‘fundacion laureles’ and so far hundreds of children in multiple schools across the impoverished regions of Mexico have been given access to quality education. But they don’t stop at education as their outreach includes feeding programs, medical and dental care for the students as well as community outreach that serves the surrounding community and families. These actions bring unprecedented opportunity and services to formally forgotten people.
‘Foundation Origen’ has a hotline number for abused women and fields tens of thousands of calls a month to serve, protect, empower, educate and employ these previously abused women. This is proving to be a powerful tool in helping to solve some huge global economical and geopolitical problems which includes the border crisis. By empowering these women, 80% of the earned income stays in-country with families in these remote villages.
my1Mpact also partners with a foundation that vets credible organizations and under this umbrella we work alongside charities that rescue slum children and help rehabilitate those on drugs and who have been trafficked.
We work with teams that provide medical healthcare for cancer victims, feeding programs that support outreach for battered women and children shelters and many more. my1Mpact Is excited to partner with so many of you to change thousands of lives in tangible ways thanks to the solutions created by these amazing women who chose not to ignore the needs of others.
